100% FREE NHS Eye Tests*

No charge for eligible patients including any NHS optical voucher you're entitled to.

FREE NHS Home Eye Test

You may qualify for a FREE NHS eye test if you:

  • Are unable to leave home unaccompanied due to illness or disability
  • Live in a care home, nursing home or assisted living
  • Have mobility difficulties that prevent travel to an optician

If any of the above apply to you, your eye test is fully covered by the NHS, at no cost to you whatsoever.

FREE Glasses or Help Towards the Cost

You may also qualify for FREE glasses or an NHS optical voucher if you:

  • Receive Universal Credit
  • Receive Income Support or income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Receive Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
  • Are named on a valid NHS Low Income Scheme certificate (HC2)
  • Are eligible under the NHS Low Income Scheme (HC3 may provide partial help)
  • Require complex lenses (in some cases)

An NHS optical voucher can be used toward the cost of glasses from our range. Where the voucher does not cover the full cost, we will always advise you clearly before any charge is made.

Question 1 of 3

Can you get to an optician on your own?

This is general guidance only, not a formal NHS assessment. If in doubt, please call us — we'll happily check for you in under two minutes.

Eligibility Criteria

You May Qualify If Any of These Apply to You

You only need to meet one of the following. If you're unsure, please call — we'll let you know straight away.

Unable to leave home unaccompanied

If you can't leave your home on your own because of a physical or mental illness or disability, you may qualify.

Living in a care home or assisted living

Residents of care homes, nursing homes, sheltered housing and supported living are typically eligible.

Mobility difficulties

If travelling to a high street optician would be difficult or unsafe for you, you may qualify.

Need extra support

Patients with dementia, learning disabilities or sensory needs often benefit from a calmer home visit.
