1. About us

Home Focus Opticians is a trading name of Community Care Health Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14610026). We are a domiciliary opticians practice regulated by the General Optical Council (GOC). Our Optometrists are individually GOC-registered.

You can contact us at bookings@homefocusopticians.co.uk or on 0800 654 6934.

2. Our service

We provide eye examinations, dispensing of glasses and aftercare in patients' homes, care homes, supported living and (where offered) workplaces across England. Where you are eligible under NHS criteria, the sight test is funded by the NHS and is provided free of charge to you. Otherwise, services are provided privately at the rates quoted to you before your visit.

3. Booking and eligibility

When you contact us we will check your eligibility for an NHS-funded home sight test. To qualify under NHS rules you must normally be unable to leave home unaccompanied because of a physical or mental illness or disability, or live in a care or nursing home. We will confirm your eligibility with you before your appointment.

By booking with us you confirm that the information you have given us (including eligibility details and contact information) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. Appointments, cancellations and access

We will agree an appointment time with you in advance. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to rearrange — ideally at least 24 hours before the visit, so we can offer the slot to another patient.

You are responsible for ensuring our Optometrist can safely access the property (for example: parking instructions, intercom codes, stairs or lift access, and any safety considerations). If an appointment cannot proceed because of access issues we were not told about, we may need to rearrange.

5. Glasses, NHS optical vouchers and private fees

Many patients eligible for a free NHS sight test are also entitled to an NHS optical voucher towards the cost of glasses. Where a voucher does not cover the full price of the frames or lenses you choose, we will always tell you the additional cost in writing before you place an order. Private fees are payable on delivery of the glasses unless otherwise agreed.

Once a bespoke prescription has been ordered, we may not be able to refund the cost if you change your mind. This does not affect your statutory rights.

6. Clinical responsibility and referrals

Your sight test will be carried out by a qualified, GOC-registered Optometrist. Where we identify a clinical concern that requires further attention, we will arrange an onward referral (for example to your GP or hospital eye service) and share a written report. We do not provide emergency eye care; if you have a sudden change in vision, severe eye pain or an eye injury, please call 111 or attend your nearest A&E.

7. Complaints

We aim to provide a calm, professional service every time. If something has not gone as you expected, please contact us at bookings@homefocusopticians.co.uk or on 0800 654 6934 so we can put it right. If you remain unhappy you may escalate your complaint to the Optical Consumer Complaints Service (OCCS) or the General Optical Council (GOC).

8. Liability

We are fully insured for our clinical practice. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim relating to private goods and services we have charged for will not exceed the amount you have paid us for those goods or services.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. For questions, see also our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
